Habbo has developed unique safety software to protect users from inappropriate or abusive behaviour.

Language 'Bobba' filter
A software filter has been developed specifically for Habbo Hotel, to mask all offensive and abusive language. When Habbos attempt to use words that are deemed inappropriate by Habbo Hotel, the words are replaced with the term "bobba". The filter applies across all public and private areas of the site, as well as chat conversations, individual Habbo names, private room names and information in character mission statements. The list of blocked words and phrases is updated on a daily basis and includes swearing, discriminatory and racist language. Habbos who repeatedly attempt to swear or offend other users are detected by the filter. A daily file is generated of offending users, which is monitored by Habbo community managers. Penalties that may result are an official warning, or in extreme cases, an ultimate ban from the site.
